After our visit last year to his brewery, we fell in love with his whole range of modern sakes, he welcomed us with open arms and taught us you can brew modern sakes based on traditional methods.

Masaru terada-san took his around on his rice fields, opens up all his bottles paired with some cooked dishes by his family.

The Terada Honke brewery was founded in 1673 and they have recently made a turn back in time as they decided to return to a very traditional way of brewing sake. They removed all modern machinery and now natural, organic and handwork are the new keywords.

Terada Honke is one of the very few breweries that does not use any cultivated yeast, relying solely on the natural yeast culture of their brewery, and organic rice. With his Muroka style so this sake didn’t get a charcoal filtration it would give you the real style of sake without loosing small aroma’s and show you the real color of sake.

Gonin Musume has a powerful nose of jasmin tea, touch of almonds, chrysanthemum tea and a fine hint of lavender.
